Thomas Wallworth ( 1609 - 1684 )

6.        THOMAS WALLWORTH ( of Thomas2 , of Thomas1 ) was christened August 27, 1609 in St. Lawrence church, Frodsham, Cheshire, England.

Father:     Thomas Wallworth                   (No.2)

Mother:     Catherine  --- ? ---

Note: Since the marriage of the parent was not found, it is not certain if Catherine was the mother of Thomas.  The christening entries at this time period only mentioned the names of the father.

Thomas Wallworth married CYBIL --- ? --- .

The family lived in Norley, Frodsham Parish.

Thomas Wallworth had an illegitimate child born with Mary Amery of Norley.

From the parish register of St. Mary church, Whitegate, Cheshire is the following entry in the year 1636: "The xxiith day of Aprill Dorothie base daughter of Thomas Waworth of Norley in the pishe of frodsham by Mary Amerie of the towne and pishe the child was borne in the saide towne being baptized in this church".

There was a Mary Amery who married John Millington November 10, 1627 in St. Lawrence church, Frodsham.

Also from the parish register of Whitegate is the following entry for 1632: "The vith day of October Elizabeth base daught of Peter Taylor of the pish of Wavton by Margaret Amrye of the pishe of ffrodsham was baptized The child was borne at the house of Mary Millington in Norley".

Margaret Amery was a sister of the Mary Amery that married John Millington.  In the parish register of St. Lawrence church, Frodsham is the following christenings, Margaret Amery on July 14, 1605 and Mary Amery on June 8, 1609, both being the daughters of a Thomas Amery.

John and Mary Millington were living in Norley.

The above information could suggest that Mary Amery had the child with Thomas Wallworth while she was married with John Millington.  Further search is being done to find out if Mary Millington was a widow or married at the time.

Two of Thomas Wallworth’s children were christened at the church in Witton, Cheshire, one in 1636 and the other in 1642.  It is not clear if they were living there or if they just had the children christened there but still lived in Norley.

Witton is a chapelry in Great Budworth parish and it is the church where the town of Northwich is located in.  Northwich is a few miles from Norley.
