John Alexander Weir Johnston was Peter Weir's Uncle and he died at Flaunden House in Hertfordshire.

The title "Glasstown: a play" published by French in 1974.
It probably he had it published under his old name because by then there was a more famous "Peter Weir" the film maker in Australia who made many hit movies.

Peter Weir died at the age of 63 on 7 March 1978 at 3 Needs Ore Cottages Warren Lane St Leonards Beaulieu in Hampshire.
He was found dead in his cottage and the coroner has it stated "that he took his own life".
According to the certificate, Peter Weir was a retired solicitor.
