Eliza Wallworth ( 1792 - ? )
59. ELIZA WALLWORTH (of Thomas7 , of Thomas6 , of Thomas5 , of John4 , of Thomas3 , of Thomas2 , of Thomas1 ) was born July 14, 1792 in Cuddington, Weaverham parish, Cheshire, England and was christened August 19, 1792 at Weaverham church.
Father: Thomas Wallworth (No.36)
Mother: Esther Pickering
In the christening record she is mentioned as Elizabeth but in all records afterward she is mentioned as Eliza.
Eliza Wallworth married JOHN LEWIS on May 12, 1819 at Weaverham church. They were married by Banns. John Lewis was of the Parish of Frodsham.
John Lewis was born ca. 1795 in Little Budworth, Cheshire.
In 1820, they were in Cuddington at the time their son Thomas was born. By 1822, John and Eliza Lewis were living in Norley, Frodsham parish where their other children were born.
John and Eliza Lewis were members of the Wesleyan Methodist church in Great Budworth parish. Their children were christened there from 1820 to 1824.
Between 1830 when their son John was born in Norley and 1841, John and Eliza Lewis moved to Aston by Budworth, Cheshire.
John Lewis was a carpenter. Starting from the 1830s he was one of those people that worked for the estate of Arley Hall, the home of Viscount Ashbrook. John Lewis eventually lived in the Saw Pit House and Arley Joiners House that are connected to the Arley Estate.
The present hall and chapel is a product of the 19th century; it was built by George Latham for Rowland Egerton-Warburton between 1832 and 1845 in the Victorian - Jacobean style. The library in particular is a good example of Victorian Gothic style, with richly coloured stained glass windows flooding the large wooden bookcases with light.
Arley Hall, with its ancient history and over 100 acres of gardens and parkland, has been owned and run by the same family for more than 500 years.
