Berea, Kentucky
Hilbart Alexander Anderson married MARY FRANCES SMITH in May 1902 at Berea, Kentucky.
According to her obituary, she was married on 17 May 1902.
From the newspaper, The Citizen (Berea, Kentucky) 0f Thursday, 22 May 1902:
Miss Fannie Smith, daughter of Mrs. R. D. Smith, and H. A. Anderson, of Kerens, Tex., were married at Mrs. Allen's Thursday night.
From the data of the 1930 census, Hilbart was 19 years old and Mary was 15 years old at the time of their marriage.
Also according to her obituary, Mrs. Anderson was born 17 June 1886, in Kentucky.
She was a daughter of Rev. Robert E. and Virginia (Hoskins) Smith.
For more about Mary Frances Smith's family: click here.
It is interesting to note that the maiden name of Mary Frances Smith was not mentioned in Cora Anderson's the book about her husband, Victor H. Anderson, "In Mari's Bower".
Also the maiden name was not mentioned in the obituary of Mrs. Mary Frances Anderson.
Which is strange because it would be like the children didn't know or didn't want others to know the mother's maiden name or her parents names. Odd considering that most people would be happy to have others know that their mother's father was a Methodist minister.
~ Date unknown
Hilbart A. Anderson was in the mason but when and which type of mason is not known.
It is known that Hilbart's father, Nathan S. Anderson and his grandfather, James Harvey Alexander were also in the masons.
From Cora Anderson’s book, In Mari’s Bower:

"Three days passed until they noticed that Victor was blinded from the fall"
"She (the mother) took the train, with Victor in her lap, and went to Oklahoma to see this doctor"
Page 4
"When, she got home, her husband greeted her with such sorrow. She asked, "What is the matter, Jack? And then Jack [Victor's father] told her that while she was away her oldest son, Robert, have died in a fire.
They didn't know exactly happened, but Robert was in the barn and he started the fire with matches and was burned to death before he could get out."
"Victor's mother didn't want to live at the ranch much longer after Robert died."
The birth certificate of Robert E. Anderson's sister of 2 February 1920 in Burkburnett, Texas, mentioned that her mother gave birth to 7 children and 6 are living. Which support that Robert's death occurred in 1919 and that they left New Mexico soon afterwards (see below at 1920 for information on the certificate).
Currently the source of the newspaper images is still adding and indexing editions of the Clayton News and so far none of the ones from 1919 is added yet, so once they do perhaps the tragedy of Robert's death may be mentioned among those in 1919.
