Research Notes:

According to the research of Martin A. C. Keel of Western Australia, which is submitted to Familysearch.org:

Susannah Cocks was born 19 Jan 1833 in Great Wakering, Essex the daughter of William Cocks and Mary Carter.

William Cocks born in 2 Feb 1796 in Mundon, Essex.  His parents mentioned as Thomas and Ann Cocks.

Mary Carter born in August 17, 1800 in Purleigh, Essex.  Her parents mentioned as John Carter and Susanna Groom.

But the baptism records of Hawkwell says that Susan Cock was born February 12, 1832 and baptized on March 17, 1833.

So I feel further checking is needed to check if this William Cocks and Mary Carter is the same as the above William and Mary Cocks.

One way to verify this is to get the birth certificate of a younger child of William and Mary Cocks, perhaps Benjamin Cock, born ca. 1839, or Charles Cock, born ca. 1842, which occurred after the start of the civil birth, marriage, and death registration in England (1837).

The birth certificate will give the name of the father and the maiden name of the mother.
