Sarah Pickingill  ( 1774 – ? )

 

2.          SARAH PICKINGILL was christened March 6, 1774 at the church in Canewdon, Essex.  She was a daughter of Thomas and Martha (Cliver) Pickingill.

The entry in the parish register for 1774 says “March 6th Sarah Pickingill Daughter of Thos. & Martha”.

 

Father:           Thomas Pickingill            (No.1)

Mother:            Martha Cliver

 

As of 1805, Sarah Pickingill was not married.

 

Sarah Pickingill was one of the witnesses present at the marriage of her sister, Martha Pickingill, with James Scott in the Canewdon church, Essex, on May 7, 1805.

Sarah signed her name.

9.          SARAH PICKINGILL was christened November 2[ ], 1792 at the church in Canewdon, Essex.   The entry in the parish register for 1792 says “Pickingill, Sarah Illegitimate Daughter of Sarah  Nov 2[ ]”.

 

 

Note: there was another Pickingill burial, it is not known who is the parent of this child, it is possible that he may have been a son of the Sarah Pickingill:

Henry Pickingill was buried November 17, 1799 in the churchyard of Canewdon, Essex.

The entry in the parish register for 1799 says “Pickingill, Henry ….   at: 2 Months Nov: 17.”
